Day 3 & 4: Morning & Afternoon Wilpattu National Park Game Drives Close

Explore Sri Lanka’s largest wildlife sanctuary with morning and afternoon game drives. Spot leopards, elephants, sloth bears and exotic birds around the park’s iconic villus. Guided safaris offer immersive wildlife encounters and perfect photo opportunities in the heart of untouched wilderness.

Day 5: Drive to Sigiriya Close

Morning drive to Sigiriya & check-in at Taru Villas Maia for 2 nights stay.

Day 6: Morning Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Afternoon Minneriya National Park Close

Early start to visit the stunning Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb to the top of the awe-inspiring Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. Built by the patricidal King Kasyapa, who imprisoned and subsequently murdered his father. Admire the elegant frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens and wander the ruins on the summit. Afternoon jeep safari to Minneriya.  Often hundreds of elephants congregate here to socialise, drink the waters of the man-made tank or simply chill out!  The wetlands attract numerous species of birds.

Day 7: Drive to Gal Oya National Park. Afternoon Jungle Drive Close

Drive to Gal Oya National Park & check-in at Gal Oya Lodge for 2 nights.

Venture into the remote Nilgala section of Gal Oya National Park with an

experienced naturalist. Explore winding jungle trails and discover the park’s prized medicinal plants whilst looking out for elephants, deer, and exotic birds in their natural habitat.

Day 8: Morning Gal Oya Lake Boat Safari Close

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sri Lanka’s largest lake, enjoy morning boat safari through the park’s remote corners. Drift through a landscape that feels almost Jurassic, spotting crocodiles, elephants and vibrant birdlife. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9: Drive to Yala National Park. Afternoon Yala National Park Safari Close

Drive to Yala National Park & check-in at Flameback Eco Lodge for 2 nights.

Experience an exciting afternoon safari in Yala National Park, home to Sri Lanka’s largest population of leopards. Explore diverse landscapes of dry forests, lagoons, and grasslands whilst on the watch for elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and exotic birds. Conclude the day with stunning sunset views over the park’s wilderness.

Day 10: Morning Yala National Park Safari Close

Early morning wildlife safari. Check particularly for the leopards lying on granite boulders – a vantage point to survey the area – and movements of their prey! Afternoon at leisure.

Day 11: Drive to Talpe Close

Drive to Talpe and stay at The Sielen Diva for 3 nights.

Day 12 & 13: Talpe Close

At leisure.

Day 14: Depart Colombo Close

Transfer to Colombo airport to board return flight back home.
