Stunning is the only way to describe the Seychelles so blessed with magnificent beaches, spectacular coral reefs and nature reserves rich, in flora and fauna. Warmed by the waters of the Indian Ocean the 115 idyllic islands are picture perfect. The islands are a paradise for beach lovers with dazzling sands fringed by swaying palms and towering Takamaka trees. Many are unbelievably spectacular with giant granite boulders framed, by crystal-clear waters in truly glorious in shades of emerald… turquoise… sky blue.
The Seychelles is a water sport haven and most hotels offer an excellent choice of activities. Conditions are good for surfers particularly when the south east trade winds blow. Old wrecks are perfect for scuba divers and the rich marine environment makes snorkelling a colourful and fascinating experience. Kayaking or paddle boarding is a perfect way to discover hidden coves – perhaps once the haunt of pirates!
For something a little different visit a rum distillery, go zip lining, explore Vallee de Mai on Praslin, a rain forest and home to the Black Parrot and Coco De Mer – the world’s largest nut. Hike in the Morne Seychellois National Park or visit the Natural Museum of History in Victoria in Mahe. Be tempted by the Creole cuisine; a delicious melting pot of flavours.
