Day 1: Depart UK Close

Day 2: Arrive Colombo in the morning. Afternoon Forgotten Colombo Tour on a Landy Close

Arrive Colombo in the morning. Meeting and assistance on arrival by our representative and transfer to The Galle Face Hotel for 1 night. Afternoon step back in time and uncover the hidden stories of Sri Lanka’s capital on this unique Land Rover adventure. Journey through Colombo’s lesser-known quarters, where crumbling mansions, colonial warehouses, and narrow streets whisper tales of a bygone era. Visit historic trading hubs, old Temples, and fading neighbourhoods that rarely feature on standard city tours.

Day 3: Drive to Sigiriya Close

Morning drive to Sigirya & check-in at Jetwing Vil Uyana for 3 nights.

Day 4: Morning Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Afternoon Minneriya National Park Close

Early start to visit the stunning Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb to the top of the awe-inspiring Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, built by King Kasyapa, who imprisoned and subsequently murdered his father. View the elegant frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens and meander the ruins on the summit. Afternoon jeep safari in Minneriya National Park…huge herds of elephants frequent the area, making a spectacular sight when hundreds gather together to drink at the man-made ancient tank, and interact between family groups. Numerous bird species live in the wetlands by the tank.

Day 5: Morning visit Polonnaruwa Close

Visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, once a busy centre of commerce and an important spiritual centre. Spend time musing over the Gal Vihara, explore the Quadrangle and see the outstanding frescoes in the Tivanka Image House. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Drive to Kandy, en-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple Close

The Cave Temples of Dambulla are wonderful to behold with their beautiful vibrant frescoes and resplendent with 153 statues of the Lord Buddha. Stay at Adigar’s Manor for 2 nights.

Day 7: Kandy Sightseeing Close

After breakfast sightseeing of Kandy the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and now a World Heritage Site. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens – the orchid house is well worth exploring – especially when the plants are in full bloom. Also visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day 8: Drive To Nuwara Eliya & Scenic Train Journey to Haputale Close

Morning drive to Nuwara Eliya and then experience the most wonderful scenic train journey to Haputale. Stay at Thotalagala Tea Plantation Bungalow for 2 nights.

Day 9: Visit A Tea Factory & The Lipton’s Seat Close

Step into Sri Lanka’s tea heritage with a visit to the Dambatenne Tea Factory, built in 1890 by Sir Thomas Lipton, and see the art of Ceylon tea-making in action. Then travel through lush plantations to Lipton’s Seat, the legendary viewpoint where Sir Lipton once surveyed his estates—offering sweeping vistas over rolling hills and endless emerald tea fields.

Day 10: Drive to Yala National Park. Afternoon Yala National Park Safari Close

Drive to Yala National Park & check-in at Uga Chena Huts for 2 nights. Embark on an exciting afternoon safari in Yala National Park, home to Sri Lanka’s largest population of leopards. The Park is famed for its diverse habitats of dry forests, lagoon and grasslands. Look out for elephants, sloth bears, crocodile, and exotic birds. Conclude the day with stunning sunset views over the park’s wilderness.

Day 11: Morning Yala National Park Safari Close

Morning safari to view the wildlife and explore the various habitats. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 12: Drive to Tangalle Close

Drive to Tangalle and stay at The Last House for 2 nights. This is Geoffrey Bawa’s iconic beachfront retreat which exudes tropical elegance with delightful airy rooms, ocean-view verandas and tranquil gardens—perfect for relaxation on Sri Lanka’s golden south coast.

Day 13: Tangalle Close

Day at leisure.

Day 14: Morning drive to Galle. Afternoon Galle Fort Tour Close

After breakfast drive to Galle & check-in at Fort Bazaar for an overnight stay. Afternoon explore the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with colonial charm. Wander cobblestone streets, browse quaint shops and fascinating museums. Relax in one of the many cafes before wandering the imposing Fort walls with its panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.

Day 15: Depart Colombo Close

Transfer to Colombo airport to board return flight back home.
