At leisure till transfer to airport for your flight to LuangPrabang. Meet and greet and hotel transfer. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in South East Asia. In 1995 UNESCO voted Luang Prabang a World Heritage City.
Early morning start to visit the Tak Bat. A moving sight as saffron robed monks silently walking through the streets receive alms from devotees. Stroll with guide through the colourful, open-air early Morning Market. Sip the unique local authentic Lao Coffee at Pasaneyom Coffee Shop and return to hotel. Breakfast hotel.
Half day to discover the old city, now under UNESCO protection as a World Heritage Site. Including the National Museum and Wat Xieng Thongg. After lunch private Mekong Riverboat down the stream to Luang Prabang passing through stunning mountains scenery and traditional villages dotting long the banks. Time permitting interact with the locals and learn about rural Lao life and handicrafts.
After breakfast journey to Ban Long Lao, a traditional Hmong hill-tribe village. Spend a short time exploring the village, before a moderately easy 3-4 hour trek to Kuangsi Waterfall through jungle and panoramic mountain scenery. Take a short walk through the jungle to visit the Buffalo Dairy Farm and the Bear Rescue Centre. Picnic lunch. Optional dip in the cool waters of the falls.
Morning at leisure. Optional architectural 3-hour walking tour in Luang Prabang with an expert guide. Around midday transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap. Arrive at Siem Reap International airport to a welcome and the transfer to hotel.
After breakfast visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, through the South Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and four giant faces. Continue to the grand 12th C. Bayon Temple known for its 54 towers with enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. See also The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Return to hotel. After lunch depart to Ta Prohm Temple, built in the mid-12th to early 13th centuries. Ta Prohm is unique in that it has been left largely as was found: overgrown by jungle trees and vines. Incredibly picturesque. Next visit the 12th C. Preah Khan, the ‘sacred sword’, with its myriad of halls, pavilions and the incomparable frieze in the Hall of Dancers.

Time permitting watch the stunning sunset from Pre Rup Temple. Optional evening visit to the Phare; the Cambodian Circus.
After breakfast visit Angkor Wat, the largest Temple in the world and inspired by 12th C. Hinduism, and took an estimated 30 years to build. Intricate bas-reliefs surround Angkor Wat on four sides. Each tells a story. The most celebrated of these is the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, in which the Naga serpent, is twisted by demons and gods to spurt out the elixir of life.
After lunch drive to Kompong Khleang with its amazing stilted houses on Tonle Sap Lake – often called ‘Bamboo Skyscrapers’! Optional dinner with Apsara Performance at Angkor Village Theatre.
After breakfast relax before transfer to airport then flight to Ho Chi Minh. Meet and greet with hotel transfer. Evening Vespa tour (pillion passenger)- Saigon After Dark. Part night excursion and part street food adventure. Discover the nightlife of the city: taste street food, listen to live music, sip cocktails and watch the world go by!
Early start for full day Mekong Tour. Including visits to Cho Gao and Long Thanh. Take a bike ride to explore the villages depended mainly on the river delta for existence. After lunch, relax before a walk to bee farm. Continue on bicycle exploring the area, filled with traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see farming activities. Next take a sampan in the canals to the deeper countryside. See locals catching fish or perhaps picking fruit. Return by boat to pier for return drive back.
Morning: Saigon half day city tour visits include the Reunification Palace – now a museum complete with period meeting areas, war rooms and a basement communication centre. Next go to Notre Dame Cathedral and see the Museum of Vietnamese History housed in a fine example of Sino-French architecture. Dating back to the 1920s, it contains an excellent series of exhibits dating from the Bronze Age to the Nguyen dynasty. The final stop today is the unforgettable Jade Emperor Pagoda. This Taoist Temple is one of the most atmospheric places of worship in the city. Return back to the hotel or be dropped off at Ben Thanh market for personal exploration. After lunch transfer to the airport for flight to Danang. Meet and greet and hotel transfer to hotel.
Morning: Half day market visit and countryside cooking lesson at Red Bridge. In the market purchase the ingredients for the cookery lesson and relax over a cup of Vietnamese coffee. The walk to the jetty for boat trip along the Thu Bon River to the cooking school. Tour the school’s vegetable and herb garden.
Afternoon: Half day Hoi An walking tour. The riverside town of Hoi An is a feast for the eyes. Discover beautifully preserved old merchant houses, atmospheric Temples and lively markets. Visit the iconic 400-year-old Japanese Bridge and the busy waterfront. Visit local house where guests can taste one of best known cake in Hoi An – Banh It la Gai.
After breakfast journey through rustic countryside, passing fields of rice and small market towns along the way, to the ancient ruins at My Son. The final approach to the Temples necessitates a 500-metre walk through lush vegetation before finally emerging at the main site itself. My Son received UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999 and is considered one of the foremost Hindu Temple complexes in Southeast Asia. After lunch at a local restaurant, tour of Danang with a visit to the excellent Museum of Cham Sculpture. Then climb the stepped path leading to the top of Thuy Son, the largest and most famous of the five mountains, is lined with several caves and beautiful pagodas and has a sensational panoramic view of the coastline and the city beyond. See stonemasons carving from marble.
Optional dinner at the Cargo Club a beautifully restored shop house with Western and Vietnamese cuisine. The fabulous patisseries are considered the best in Hoi An.
Today free at leisure until meet and transfer to Danang Domestic Airport for flight to Hanoi. Meet and greet in Hanoi and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon: Half day city tour by cyclo and electric buggy. Orientation of Hanoi, its tree-lined streets resplendent with French colonial architecture, including the exquisite, recently restored Opera House. Pass Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as the ‘Lake of the Restored Sword’ after the legend that surrounds it. Visit one of the many museums in the city – the choice available includes: Ancient History, Military History or Fine Arts. Continue to the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university.
Next, explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter by cyclo and electric buggy. Also known as ’36 Streets’, this densely populated area of the city is the oldest continuously developed section of Vietnam.
Morning: Half day Hanoi hidden alley with street food tour visiting Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Ride on a private – seated cyclo then walk through labyrinthine alleyways with delightful names including Sugar Street, Tin Street and Paper Street. Discover hidden water wells, ancient staircases, delight at the fascinating and innovative architecture. Sit down with the Hanoi locals and sample various meat, vegetable, and bread specialties that are flame-grilled over hot coals for extra flavour. Try for dessert fresh fruit served in a cup and smothered with crushed iced and condensed milk.
Next visit one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a hidden cafe with stunning views over the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake and try serves egg coffee! Then transfer to Bun Cha Huong Lien which serves the speciality – Bun Cha.
Evening: My Village Show Poetic Vietnamese Village Life.
A unique and stunning graceful performance embraces music, juggling, amazing contortion and, using bamboo, traditional village life is recreated.
After breakfast travel to Hai Phong, stop at some of the numerous grottoes and caves on the islands and exploring on foot. Ascend one of the surrounding hills for a memorable panoramic views of the verdant islands and shimmering waters below. Overnight Cruise boat.
